Parents,
you have the right to view your child’s WASL test. For eight years, the
Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has been
violating federal law by denying parents the right to see their children’s
tests.
Parent
Empowerment Network is working to preserve your rights. OSPI is attempting to limit parental rights
by destroying WASL tests. We have learned that all test booklets prior to 2004
have already been destroyed. This means that state mandated student learning
plans for this year’s 10th graders are being based on scores on WASL
tests that have been destroyed. Parents have no proof that those scores are

it to the address indicated. Be sure to keep a copy for your records. Federal
law allows the state 45 days to comply with a parent’s
request to view the test.
